Let's Talk iPhone, and a Tribute

1. On 4th October 2011, many were frustated on Apple's new series of iPhone, the 4s. This reminded me a lot when Steve Jobs introduced the iPad to the world. Its an iPod Touch with a bigger screen they said, and Bill Gates quoted "This is the first time i see an Apple invention, and i dont regret we dont come with it first". Then look how iPad change our mobile experience now, re-creating tablet wars among IT manufacturers.

2. Yes the iPhone 4s is lacking on bombastic hardware features. Even the design used the prev iPhone 4. Gile malas nk wat design baru. As some will say the design is still valid to 2 or 3 more years. Hardware wise, Apple has failed many.

3. But, yes there is a but. Wait for iOS 5 and iCloud made available next week, then we'll see. No more cables needed to transfer files among devices. Im imagining that i took a picture using my iPhone, and uploaded to my mum iPad the next second. My mum in Kuching just need to go to the photo gallery and voila, the pic is already there. Yes this is among the features available in iOS 5. No need for seniors like my mum take the hasle to download the pics from email etc. Thank you Steve Jobs.

4. Oh wait, is any other competitors have this feature? I dont know. Maybe. Again its the iOS who decides the winner. Wtf. This entry is not written to condemn any other devices or OSes out there. Just merely comparing. This is just from a petite angle of view. You may have other, and i totally respect that.

5. Last but not least, thank you again Steve Jobs for all the inventions and for shaping Apple to where it is now. I was a late bloomer that i only started to use your products since 2008 (my purple iPod Shuffle with clip behind). I was so naive that the first Apple product that ive made to know was the gamechanger iPod Classic. Dreaming to have one of it was the start of everything. Watching the movie Pirates of the Silicon Valley helped me to understand better the rivalries between you and Mr Gates, and the history of Apple Computers. May you rest in piece Steve Jobs.

Until then, ciao.

The new family member

Hello guys! I just realised that when i tweet to much, i dont remember that i actually have a blog to update as often! After a while, i decided to write an entry from a very much anticipated iOS device from Apple, the iPad. (ya i know, this entry shud be about iPhone 4 tho)

After days of sleepless night, i finally decided to ditch iPhone 4 upgrade (atleast for now :-)) for an iPad. The choice is the 16gb wifi version only. Oh please im not writing this to show off, but to give some my preliminary review on the device, as some might thinking to get it as well.

1. If you dont have any pc/mac at the moment and ure torn into which device to get, pc/mac or an iPad, please get urself a pc/mac first. To ensure u utilise the iPad as max as possible (printing, apps transfer, copy pdf or eBook etc), u will need to sync with iTunes on mac or pc. As for now, i only use my MacBook Pro to sync with iTunes, and iPad did the rest (keje wat kt opis ler hehe).

2. The iPad is an obsolute great eReader no doubt. At first, i wandered why Steve Jobs used the word 'revolutionary' when he introduced iPad earlier this year. You email better, u FB-ing better, u tweet better and i love playing command and conquer at the comfort of my couch or bed. Love the way how the apps organises the threads in Magazine way. It keeps out annoying quizzes or games that just not need appear in your home page. A must have apps for iPad i would say.

3. Why u need an iPad? Hmmm.. I started to think whether to have one or not when i traveled back to Kuching raya this year. I normally check my emails on my iPhone just to kill the time, and some internet reading. Ofcourse u can do all these better on a larger screen. This is the part when i open my Macbook to view emails better. Suddenly there was this person, sitting not far from me, wthdraws his iPad from it's sleeve, 'slides to unlock' and he is good to roll. Wow. It's not about where he got te iPad that amazes me. It was about the true definition of a netbook. U SHOULD NEVER COMPARE A NETBOOK WITH A PC/MAC. A netbook should be able to provide you better emailing experience and leisure web surfing more interesting than viewing it on ur tiny phone screen. With iPad, u dont just email and surf the web better, the gaming is quite decent too. (portable gaming, ofcourse x dpt lwn la xbox or ps3). Now with VLC apps for iPad, i dont need to convert my .avi videos to .mp4 before watching it on the go.

4. Enough about the pros. Let's talk about the cons. Apps price is expensive compared to iPhone's. Most of the good apps for iPad will cost you USD 9.99, that is rm30 ++ per apps man! Ofcourse u can jailbreak to get these apps for free, but i just dont favour jailbreaking my iOS devices anymore (hate the fact u need to wait until latest jailbreak is out before u can update ur device iOS). The iPad is great at emailing, but for word processing, powerpoint editing and using excel, i still prefer it on my mac. I installed iWorks for iPad, nice for mobile editing, but i'd go for a pc/mac if there is available.

I love using iPad on my couch or bed. It feels so right, other than to have ur Mac with you all the while. Im maximising it for my daily use, good enough to replace my Buku Catatan Harian hehe. If one of you guys decided to get one, call me! I am more than happy to help as to share more on iPad. The post is long enough already, so cukup la this time around. Lagi 2 bulan baru update balik hehe... SELAMAT HARI RAYA AILDILFITRI!

am i ready for you?

In Parliament, only with my iPhone and my jot book. Left my MacBook in the office. Oh i wish the future iPhone OS update will enable file sharing to the iPhone via cable connection, not only via wifi connection as it is now. By enabling this, my iPhone is a true mobile office. Xde la kalut mintak org kt opis emel me files needed only then i can send the files to people who needs them urgently. Actually im amazed with this device capability yg keep on expanding. Just yesterday i installed an apps that enable scanner function in iPhone. How's that? Not to mention the NewsRack apps which is so cool that i can sync my google reader to the iPhone and thanks to that the latest news is in my palm. Sungguh bosan mendengar mereka berbahas pasal pilihanraya PBT ini. Got few issues which in need of EPU's attention. Will prepare the report as soon as im back in the office in the afternoon.

Got few things in my wish list lately. Unifi and iPad!! I'd love to have iPad on my bed side table, powered by an always connected high speed broadband for me to my routine morning surf. Yes iPhone is cool but Safari with Faster processor is even cooler ofcourse. Malas nk bukak MacBook sbb nk surf and check for some updates in the world wide web. iPad is lighter and designed for convenient use anywhere in the house even tgh baring2 masa bangun pagi ok. Checked with Switch the Mines the iPad will made available in Malaysia only in May or probably sooner. Just knowing Apple, for sure they'll priotise the demand in US or europe first. About Unifi, the Video on demand features is so cool that you can watch latest series from US anytime u like. Astro's programme is boring lately. Too bad i signed for two years contract with astro already. Anyway, hope Unifi will be available in my area in 2010 tho. I currently paying rm110 for my 1mbps streamyx. I think its no harm adding rm 39 to a more reliable and fast 5mbps high speed broadband connection. Bye bye streamyx tho TM will still be the provider. Sucks.

Adopted a cat since last week. Kucing biasa je but sangat manja. Named him Vincent Chase, as a tribute to Adam Grenier's role in Entourage, the best tv show ever! As for me la haha. Vince is a great companion. Bought a bag of branded cat food which cost expensive than my beras faiza super moghul basmathi. I want to make vince strong and fat haha.

Am i ready for u eh? This post said nothing about the title hehe. I am thinking about a serious relationship with this special someone. But am i ready? Its been two years since i last had my serious relationship with my ex. Many had happened. I dont know if i can do it again. Or am i just enjoying the chase?Dh dapat nanti things will not be as wondeful as it may seems. Am i ready? Then i have to be prepared la oh :-)

Till next time.

Valentine's Day

Every year on this day, same thoughts will cross through my mind. Effortless me or im just tired of making 'investment' for love. Agree to most of Malaysian who condemned the celebration. Valentine's is overated man. Why create a day to celebrate love when u can love everyday? and for those who didnt buy fancy prezzies for their love ones on this day will be considered effortless and in 'comfort zone'? What the heck.

Seriously, i'm tired of the chase and i wish i have a time capsule and return back to my past and refrain myself from making my every unfruitful so called love investment and save tonnes of money out of it. Then i can settle all my debt after spending a lot before entering my new house few months ago.

But again, the past makes who you are today. I learnt my lesson, and finally i can say, im giving up my chase for your type of girls. There's people who can accept who i am, without asking me to change 360, ofcourse i'll owez welcome the change for the better good. So dear you, wherever u are, i hope u enjoyed ur celebration of the day, with prezzies from people who wants you to be their gf, and for the first time in many years knowing u, today, i'll keep my iPhone 3GS keypad rest from wishing u a Happy V-Day :-)

Ciao

i miss...

Hmm i miss my hometown. Feels like going home this CNY holiday but the air tix is damn xpensive. Spent my money to repair my car that day and settling credit card debt yang membukit balik pas masuk umah baru aritu (including the recent upgrade to 3Gs) hehe. Oh well i miss my Asha, and Mi Sapi Hj Salleh, and Laksa Dewi, and friends overthere... Ofcourse my parents too

teeth

Something happened today. I broke my front teeth! Perggh.. Everyone laughed when i smiled to them today. Ya i am indeed look funny with this broken teeth. Then after work i went straight to the dentist to fix it. "Oh sorry dear. The teeth can't be save. Im afraid i have to remove it." said the doctor. "And this is what u got for skipping ur 'rawatan akar' treatment 2 years ago" she yelled back.

Hmm actually i took myself to the same dentist two years ago to do some rawatan akar. It supposed to be 4 visits, but due to the tight schedule that time and some other factors, i only managed to do two. Hmm. well i thot its ok already. Clearly im wrong.

The dentist quoted RM 1k++ to plant a new teeth inside. darn expensive. But i guess i just need to do it. I do look funny like this huhu..

Hmm lesson learnt. Tu baru sebatang gigi tuhan ambik balik. What if some other things? Hmm everything in this world is on temporary basis. Bersyukurlah while u have it. Hmm time kering2 macam ni la byk ujian melanda. Oh God please give me strenght to go through all this. Amin..
